Communities have been established, both in Fukuoka and in various countries, by former international students who share the desire to keep in touch with friends made while studying in Fukuoka, or in gratitude for the support they received while in Fukuoka. The Fukuoka International Student Support Center’s Administrative Council (FiSSC) assists each community in launching itself, and also offers follow-up support and collaboration.

An increasing number of international students choose to work in Japan after graduation. It is very important to decide on your purpose for working in Japan, set future goals, and start job hunting activities as early as possible. We also host regular exchange events where former international students who are busy working in various fields talk about their jobs and experiences. As the Chinese economy grows, an increasing number of Chinese students are going to Japan to study. On the other hand, more Chinese students are returning home each year anticipating a promising future in their home country, which has led to intensified competition. Students should seriously consider what they want to learn during their student life in Japan, and acquire knowledge not only in academic fields, but on Japanese society as a whole.
