Q. Where can I get information regarding school expenses, living costs and scholarships for studying in Fukuoka?
A. Please refer to the information onschool expenses and living costs posted on the FiSSC website. Several organizations, including the Japanese government and local public associations, have established various scholarships for students who hope to study in Japan. For the scholarships granted by the Japanese government, inquire at the Japanese embassy (or consulate general) in your country. Other information on scholarships can be found on the websites of the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and each university.
Q. Where can I get information on universities located in Fukuoka?
A. The FiSSC website has a search function for major universities in Fukuoka, categorized by purpose and university.
Q. Where can I find information on Japanese language schools located in Fukuoka?
A. There are many Japanese language schools in Fukuoka. For information on each school, please refer to the website of the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education.

Questions from International Students
I am looking for an apartment. Can FiSSC find an apartment for me?
A. Although FiSSC does not work as a go-between or apartment finder for students from abroad, we do post information on private real estate companies that offer multilingual services, and also provide housing information from local residents.
Q.Are there any hospitals that offer foreign language services?
A.The Fukuoka Prefecture Medical Center website allows you to search for medical institutions with foreign language services in English.
Q. .I want to change my resident status. Who can I consult about this?
A. Kokusai Hiroba of the Fukuoka International Exchange Foundation (where the FiSSC office is) offers consultations to foreigners. Also, the NPO Global Life Support Center offers telephone consultations.

Q. Can you publicize an event to international students?
A. Please bring event leaflets or send us the data by email.After FiSSC confirms that the event is suitable, we will inform international students through each international student association. *Please understand that FiSSC may not be able to accept the request if the contents of the event are deemed inappropriate for international students.
Q. Are there any exchange events with international students that we can take part in?
A. FiSSC posts information on various events hosted by each international student association, including the Fukuoka Overseas Students Association (FOSA), on the website. Please check it regularly for updates.

Kokusai Hiroba of the Fukuoka International Exchange Foundation (where the FiSSC office is) is visited and used by many as an international exchange hub between local citizens and foreigners living in Fukuoka. Q. I cannot find a part-time job. What should I do?
A. FiSSC offers a free part-time job placement service to international students enrolled in universities, junior colleges and technical colleges located in Fukuoka Prefecture. To use this service, you must register with FiSSC. Click here for details.
Q. .I study at a Japanese language school. Can you introduce me to a part-time job or a full-time job?
A. FiSSC offers a job search service only to those international students enrolled in universities, junior colleges and technical colleges in Fukuoka Prefecture. We do not offer this service to students registered with Japanese language schools. After you enter a university or other higher educational institution, we will be happy to provide assistance.
Q. I am searching for a job, but cannot get a job offer. What should I do?
A. For international students enrolled in universities, junior colleges and technical colleges located in Fukuoka Prefecture, FiSSC offers employment support programs, including individual consultations with job search specialists, employment referrals and the correction of resumes. Q. How can I obtain permission to engage in non-academic activities in order to take on a part-time job?
A. When starting a part-time job, you need to obtain a permit from your school and apply for “permission to engage in activity other than that permitted under the status of residence previously granted” at your nearby Immigration Bureau office.
